Victoria Lipnic, Former Commissioner and Acting Chair of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Elected to Allegheny College Board of Trustees

MEADVILLE, PA, July 22, 2024 -- Victoria Lipnic, former commissioner and acting chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), has been elected to the Board of Trustees of Allegheny College, one of the nation’s most historic and innovative four-year colleges where multidisciplinary learning breaks the conventional mold. Trustees are elected to four-year terms and may serve three consecutive terms.

Lipnic holds a B.A. in Political Science and History from Allegheny College and a J.D. degree from George Mason University School of Law (now The Antonin Scalia Law School of George Mason University) in Arlington, VA. In 2016, Allegheny College conferred upon her the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters.

Lipnic served as commissioner for more than a decade and acting chair from 2017 to 2019 of the EEOC, the premier federal agency responsible for enforcing the nation’s anti-discrimination laws in employment. Prior to her appointments to the EEOC, she was U.S. Assistant Secretary of Labor for Employment Standards under President George W. Bush. She currently is a partner in Resolution Economics, a dispute, investigation and advisory firm specializing in labor, employment and complex finance and accounting issues, where she leads the company’s Human Capital Strategy Group.

Lipnic is an active Allegheny College alumnus, engaged with institutional advancement at regional events, as an advisor to Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, in reunion committees, and as a class of 1982 ambassador.
