Washington, DC – GAP Community Child Development Center, located at 209 Upshur Street NW, is excited to announce its Open House on October 26, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This event offers families in the community an opportunity to explore GAP’s early learning programs, meet the educators, and tour the newly expanded facility.

During the open house, families will be able to tour GAP’s classrooms and the newly completed lower level, which will add 32 new slots for infants and toddlers, increasing the center’s capacity from 64 to 96 children. This expansion, supported by a $25,000 grant from the Low-Income Investment Fund, addresses the critical need for infant and toddler care in the District of Columbia. The project is set to generate over $750,000 in revenue annually, reinforcing GAP’s commitment to providing accessible and sustainable childcare for the community.

In addition to the facility tours, children will enjoy live entertainment by Willy Woo Woo, a popular children’s performer, along with other interactive activities. Refreshments will also be provided, making the event a family-friendly experience.

We are thrilled to welcome families to our open house and showcase the exciting expansion that allows us to better serve our community," said Travis Hardmon, President and CEO, GAP Community Child Development Center. "This new space will provide more families with access to high-quality care, and we are proud of our ability to grow in a way that directly benefits our children and staff."

GAP has been a leader in early childhood education since its founding in 1982. The center is recognized for its high standards and innovative programming, including its participation in the Pre-K Enhancement and Expansion Program (PKEEP), and has consistently earned high ratings in DC’s Capital Quality Rating System.

Families and media representatives are invited to attend the open house. For more information, visit www.gapccc.com or contact Marschelle Weeks at mweeks@gapccc.com.
