Safe + Sound Week takes place from August 11th through the 17th this year. It is the ninth annual week of recognition by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), a coalition of safety organizations, and thousands of businesses. The theme for 2025 is Preparedness is Your Superpower.
OSHA describes Safe + Sound Week as a nationwide event to raise awareness and understanding of the value of safety and health programs in the workplace. The agency also promotes the fact that safety and health programs help businesses:
- Prevent workplace injuries and illnesses
- Improve compliance with laws and regulations
- Reduce costs, including significant reductions in workers' compensation premiums
- Engage workers
- Enhance social responsibility goals
- Increase productivity and enhance overall business operations
