DALLAS, Aug. 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- STREAM Foundation, a North Texas-based nonprofit preparing students for careers in finance, announced today that it will combine with the nationally recognized non-profit organization, Greenwood Project. The integration will take effect in October and marks a major expansion of resources, reach, and opportunity for students across the region.

The combined entity will operate STREAM's legacy programming as part of Greenwood Project. 

"This partnership unlocks national access for our students," said Ellis Thomas, co-founder of STREAM. "They'll still receive the mentorship and local support we've always delivered, but now with the backing of a proven model that delivers rigorous training, industry connections, and measurable results."

Founded in 2016, Greenwood Project prepares talented, underrepresented college students for careers in financial services through early intervention, rigorous training, and professional coaching. Seventy percent of alumni transition to full-time roles in financial services and internship-to-offer conversion rates exceed national benchmarks.

Kwesi Smith, CEO of Greenwood Project, called the business combination a strategic leap:

The announcement comes as the STREAM Foundation participates in North Texas Giving Day, aiming to raise funds for 2026 programming and ensure the Greenwood Project North Texas launch is successful.
