Reserve Cup Marbella Marks the First-Ever International Expansion of Reserve Padel's Elite Tournament
MARBELLA, Spain, Aug. 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Reserve Padel's flagship tournament, the Reserve Cup, is heading to Spain's Costa del Sol with its next stop: Reserve Cup Marbella. From September 18–20, 2025, the legendary luxury beach resort, Puente Romano Hotel, will transform into a world-class competitive stage as the Reserve Cup brings its signature blend of high-stakes padel and luxury hospitality to Marbella for the very first time. A historic destination for the sport, Puente Romano is home to one of Spain's first major padel clubs and has long played a pivotal role in elevating the game, hosting prestigious events like the World Padel Tour. This highly anticipated tournament marks the first international stop of the 2025 Reserve Cup Series, bringing the sport's biggest names to the heart of the Mediterranean.
Following its inaugural debut in Miami in 2024 and return to the city in early 2025, the Marbella edition marks the second stop in the 2025 Reserve Cup Series, further cementing Reserve Padel's global presence and continued investment in the sport's evolution.
Led by Reserve Padel Founder and CEO Wayne Boich, alongside Honorary Chairman Jimmy Butler, the Reserve Cup is recognized as one of the most prestigious events in professional padel. With Marbella's reputation as a hub for elite sport, global travelers, and high-end hospitality, Puente Romano offers the perfect setting for Reserve's signature experience of world-class competition, luxury lifestyle, and cultural prestige.
"Marbella has always been a dream location for Reserve Padel. The energy of Puente Romano, paired with the passion for padel in Spain, makes it the perfect destination for the next Reserve Cup," said Wayne Boich. "This tournament is about more than just elite competition—it's about creating unforgettable experiences, both on and off the court, and bringing together a global community that's pushing the sport forward."
"Wayne's always envisioned something very big for both Reserve and Reserve Cup, and being part of it since the beginning has been an incredible experience," said Jimmy Butler. "Now we're bringing that same energy to Marbella. The passion for padel in Marbella is very real, and I know this is going to be the most exciting event yet —not just for the competition, but for the energy, the people, and the entire experience surrounding it."
The three-day tournament will feature two elite teams led by star captains, with $500,000 USD in prize money—matching the Series' inaugural leg in Miami. The roster includes some of the top-ranked padel players in the world, with confirmed participants Arturo Coello, Agustin Tapia, Alejandro Galán, Miguel Yanguas, Coki Nieto, Pablo Cardona, and Javi Garrido, among others.
"Reserve Cup is not just a tournament where top-level padel meets an exclusive and unique atmosphere — it's a different competition that allows the players to enjoy our sport even more by playing as a team," said Arturo Coello. "Having the opportunity to play Reserve Cup for the first time in Spain, and to do so in Marbella, makes it truly special."
Reserve Cup Marbella is made possible by an exclusive group of official partners, including Moncayo, Playtomic, Red Bull, Sierra Blanca Estates, Discovery Land Company, Puente Romano Hotel, Aston Martin, Commonwealth Asset Management, and the City of Marbella.
"It is an honor, as Mayor of Marbella, that our city — known as the birthplace of padel — is hosting such a significant event as the Reserve Cup. This will position our destination as an international benchmark, bringing with it the economic and promotional impact of this sporting event, which is coming to Spain for the first time," said Maria Angeles Muñoz. "I would like to express my gratitude to those who have chosen our municipality for this competition, whose venue I hope will continue to be Marbella for many more years to come, as it complements our image as a destination for well-being and active living, and helps attract tourists outside the high season."
"We are honored to welcome the world's best to Puente Romano Marbella for a true celebration of padel that will inspire the next generation of players," said Gonzalo Rodríguez, General Manager of Puente Romano Hotel. "Partnering with Wayne Boich and the team at Reserve, who are broadening the sport's appeal with a modern, lifestyle-driven perspective, feels like a natural alignment for us at Puente Romano Marbella. As a destination with a deep-rooted history with padel, hosting an event of this calibre at our racquet club marks a meaningful moment for the sport, and we're proud to play a role in shaping its next chapter."
As with every Reserve Cup event, Marbella will feature a blend of competitive sport, immersive hospitality, and curated entertainment. Guests can expect elegant viewing experiences, VIP lounges catered, world-class cuisine, and elevated brand activations that capture the spirit of Reserve's lifestyle-forward approach. Set against a stunning Mediterranean backdrop, Reserve Cup Marbella promises to deliver a dynamic new chapter in one of the sport's most exciting new series.
