What 943 Texas "We Buy Houses" Websites Reveal About Investor SEO in 2026
Richardson, United States - August 28, 2026 / RankGrid /
RICHARDSON, Texas, August 24, 2026. A new analysis of 943 Texas real estate investor websites found that most cash-home-buying operators spend on a website and then skip the fundamentals that make it rank and convert. The study, run by local-SEO agency RankGrid, scouted "we buy houses" and "sell my house fast" businesses across the state and checked each one for Google Business Profile presence, website health, template use, local schema, and tracking pixels.
The pattern runs opposite to home-service contractors, who crowd into Google Maps and compete on reviews. Investors have all but left Maps and lean on their website and paid ads instead.
Most have no Google Business Profile of their own. Only 26% of the 943 investors had a Google Business Profile that RankGrid could tie to them by website or business name. Thirty-two percent had no Google listing at all, and for another 42%, searching the business name in its city returned a different company. A verified profile is what places a business in the Map Pack, the local results a motivated seller often checks first. Three out of four investors are not in that lane.
One in seven websites is broken. 14% of the investor sites failed to load when RankGrid checked them, from dead hosting to expired domains to pages that timed out. For a business whose website exists to catch a seller who is ready today, a site that does not load loses the lead on every visit.
Nearly one in five runs the same template. 18% of the sites run on Carrot, the most common real estate investor website platform. Template sites share their structure with thousands of other investors, which gives Google little to tell them apart and gives a seller little reason to pick one over another.
The cheap fundamentals are the ones most often skipped. 47% of the investor sites carried no local schema, the code that tells Google what a business does and where. And 81% ran no retargeting pixel, so a seller who visits, hesitates, and leaves is gone with no way to follow up. Twenty-seven percent had no analytics installed at all.
"Investors are web-first, but the web work stops at buying the site," said Miron Briley, founder of RankGrid. "They skip the profile, the schema, and the pixel, which are the cheapest edges there are. The market is soft in exactly the places most operators ignore."
RankGrid collected the data in August 2026 from a scouted list of Texas investor and cash-home-buyer businesses, de-duplicated by website, then checked each site's Google presence, reachability, platform, schema, and pixels. The full report, with the complete breakdown, is published at rankgrid.ai.
