Chris Vassilopoulos to Spearhead Growth and Consultant Engagement for Johnson Asset Management
CINCINNATI, Aug. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Johnson Asset Management recently hired Chris Vassilopoulos as the new Director of Institutional Business Development for its team.
In this role, Vassilopoulos will lead Johnson's institutional sales strategy, focusing on building and strengthening relationships with investment consultants, public pension plans, foundations and other institutional investors. He will also help identify and develop new business opportunities, contribute to strategic marketing efforts and collaborate closely with the firm's investment and client service teams to ensure exceptional alignment with client needs.
With more than 20 years of experience in institutional sales, Vassilopoulos brings a strong track record of relationship-building and industry expertise, spanning from traditional and alternative investment strategies to a broad range of institutional prospects. He most recently served as Investment Solutions Director and Head of Operational Due Diligence Sales at Aon Investments USA Inc.
"We are thrilled to have Chris join the team," said Brandon Zureick, CFA, Senior Managing Director and Principal of Johnson Asset Management. "He brings deep expertise in the institutional market, and an unparalleled energy for growth. Chris's alignment with our firm's culture and values make him the perfect person to lead Johnson Asset Management's institutional business forward."
Vassilopoulos cited Johnson's client-first philosophy and distinctive culture as what made the opportunity especially appealing.
"What drew me here was the culture. This firm is truly unique in how it lives out its values," said Chris. "From the way Johnson Asset Management supports its employees to its deep focus on client-first relationships and community giving, it's a place where I know my network and connections will be in excellent hands."
A Boston native and Boston College graduate, Vassilopoulos maintains deep ties to his hometown. He is active in his community and serves on nonprofit boards associated with his alma mater.
"Giving back is part of who I am," said Chris. "That's also what made Johnson feel like a natural fit. It's more like a big family, and the firm truly treats its people as its greatest asset."
With a strong focus on building existing and prospective client relationships, Vassilopoulos is eager to introduce Johnson's asset management capabilities to the larger institutional investment space and begin to grow the asset management team.
"Johnson has an impressive 65-year pedigree in both fixed income and equity, but many plans and consultants still don't know the full story," said Chris. "That's an incredible opportunity I'm excited to help bridge. I've already hit the ground running."
