- Two-Day Event Will Equip South Carolina Nonprofits with Tools to Maximize Impact Through Innovation
GREENVILLE, S.C., Aug. 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- As technology reshapes every aspect of how we live and work, South Carolina's nonprofit sector faces a critical challenge, and a powerful opportunity. The ability to adopt and adapt to digital tools can determine how effectively an organization delivers services to clients. Yet many nonprofits lack the resources, training, or infrastructure to keep pace. That's why SC Thrive is making tech empowerment the focus of its Annual Training 2025, taking place September 15–16 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Greenville Golf Resort & Conference Center.
This year's theme, "Smart Technologies: Enhancing Human Potential," will spotlight the role of innovation in improving outcomes for individuals and communities. This technology-focused event will boost the impact of SC Thrive's client partners and other South Carolina organizations on a mission to serve their communities. The two-day conference will bring together nonprofit professionals, service providers, government partners, healthcare leaders, educators, and technology experts for hands-on training, breakout sessions, and dynamic keynotes focused on digital tools, data systems and emerging platforms (such as SC Thrive's Thrive Hub technology solution) that can transform service delivery.
"As the needs of South Carolinians grow more complex, it's essential that human and social service providers are equipped with the right tools to meet people where they are. And that means embracing technology," said Allie Boykin, Interim Chief Executive Officer at SC Thrive. "This year's training is about empowering the organizations on the front lines with practical knowledge and smart innovations they can immediately apply. We are excited to bring together voices from every corner of the state to collaborate on solutions to help our residents thrive."
Training highlights include:
- Keynote addresses by Ron Harvey, VP and COO of Global Core Strategies & Consulting, and Peter Lamotte, President, Strategic Communications at Chernoff Newman.
- Harvey's address "Thriving Together: Uniting Leadership, Purpose, and People for Impact" is a call to action for participants to lead with clarity, mobilize others and cultivate cultures where everyone thrives by working together.
- Lamotte's keynote, "Nonprofits in an AI World: Embracing a Transformative, Ever-Evolving Tool" looks at practical, people-first ways to make AI an ally, not just another tool, so organizations can achieve more impact with less burnout.
- Numerous breakout sessions focused on best practices, new tools and collaborative strategies.
- Robust networking opportunities with peers and experts across industries.
- Additional speakers include Tori Anderson, Dementia Care Specialist Program Manager at the SC Department on Aging; Jennequia "Nikki" Brown, Chief Inclusion Officer at the SC Department of Public Health; M. Greg Green, Training Manager, Center for Community Health Alignment; Tamera Gaffney, Internal Partnerships and Special Projects Coordinator at Department of Public Health; Marissa Spady, Senior Manager at No Kid Hungry; and more.
Approximately 400 professionals, policymakers and community leaders from across the Palmetto State will gather together to explore innovative solutions and best practices that empower and strengthen our communities.
This annual event offers a customizable learning experience designed for the life-changing work carried out by SC Thrive and its partners. SC Thrive's Annual Training provides the tools, connections, and inspiration to make a meaningful difference.
