Clear Secure Inc. (YOU), the secure identity company, has partnered with Tampa General Hospital to integrate its CLEAR1 biometric platform into the hospital’s identity access management system, streamlining account recovery and strengthening workforce cybersecurity.
The collaboration is designed to combat threats such as social engineering and deepfake-enabled impersonation that often target IT help desks. By automating password resets with biometric verification, Tampa General has already reported measurable improvements. Since deployment, the hospital automated 80% of account recovery requests, cut multi-factor authentication reset times by 99% (from 4.5 days to 20 minutes), reduced account-related IT calls by 22%, and retired its 90-day password reset policy in favor of higher-assurance biometric authentication.
The system was integrated in less than three weeks without disrupting existing infrastructure and requires a one-time identity verification using a government-issued ID and selfie. Tampa General plans to expand its use of CLEAR into patient-facing workflows through Epic MyChart, further extending secure access to clinical interactions.
