Leader in Secure, Compliance-Ready Container Images accelerates growth toward 1,000-image milestone

SINGAPORE, Aug. 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- CleanStart, a global leader in hardened, compliance-ready container images, announced today that it has surpassed 350 vulnerability-free images in its repository, making it one of the largest FIPS-compliant libraries in the industry. The company also revealed its expanded U.S. presence via a new contract with a Fortune 100 enterprise and plans to grow its library to more than 1,000 images by year-end, powered by proprietary AI tools that accelerate secure image development.

Each of CleanStart's images are hardened to near zero CVEs, 60–80% smaller than original versions, and stored in a private repository. All meet NIST FIPS standards, enabling immediate use in U.S. government and other regulated environments without additional compliance work, an important differentiator among competitors.

"Reaching 350 hardened, compliance-ready images in such a short time is more than a milestone - it's an illustration of our ability to scale our repository while maintaining the highest security and compliance standards," said Nilesh Jain, Co-Founder and CEO of CleanStart. "Our path to 1,000 images by year-end is unmatched in the industry, driven by proprietary AI that allows us to deliver continuously updated, government-grade container images at scale. With this foundation, we're ready to accelerate our U.S. expansion and bring these capabilities to more enterprises that can't afford to compromise on speed, security, or compliance."

Container images are used throughout the software development supply chain and serve as the building blocks for modern software deployment, enabling portability and scalability in cloud-native architectures. While they are widely used, an estimated 87% of containers in use today contain high or critical vulnerabilities and half of the most popular images on public repositories have known flaws, according to Sysdig's 2023 Cloud-Native Security and Usage Report. CleanStart addresses this risk from the start, delivering pre-hardened, compliance-ready container images that are continuously updated which eliminates the burden of vulnerability management and enables enterprises to build faster, safer, and with complete confidence.

CleanStart's pre-hardened, compliance-ready images eliminate much of the manual work that slows software delivery. By reducing the need for large DevSecOps teams, expensive vulnerability scanning tools, and third-party compliance vendors, organizations can cut development and compliance testing timelines from months to weeks. This accelerated path to deployment, while still meeting stringent federal security standards, makes CleanStart especially valuable to technology firms, SaaS providers, and financial companies operating under strict regulatory mandates and compressed release schedules.

"Our hardened images come from a secure, reproducible build process that uses locked-down source dependencies, consistent builds, FIPS-compliant encryption, and includes complete provenance documentation with SLSA/in-toto signatures along with SPDX and CycloneDX software bills of materials," explained Biswajit De, CleanStart's CTO and co-founder. "Our platform automatically strips out dangerous dependencies, runs everything as non-root users in minimal containers with security hardening, blocks vulnerabilities based on your policies, and now with our U.S. expansion, we're adding local registry mirrors and engineering teams to speed up image pulls and get security patches out faster."

Founded by a team of veteran cybersecurity experts, CleanStart, previously branded as Triam Security, has established itself as the leading provider of hardened container images across India and Asia and is now poised to become one of the largest players in the U.S. market. Already serving a Fortune 100 client in the United States, the company is building momentum with technology and financial services organizations. Expansion plans include strategic hiring and a stronger presence in key tech hubs to meet accelerating demand.
