Charter Oak State College's A.S. and B.S. Early Childhood Education Programs Accredited by NAEYC

NEW BRITAIN, Conn., Aug. 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Charter Oak State College, (www.CharterOak.edu), announced that its online A.S. and B.S. in Early Childhood Education have been accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

According to NAEYC officials, "accreditation ensures a consistent and high level of program quality and alignment to the Professional Standards and Competencies for Early Childhood Educators while respecting the unique mission and context of each degree program, its host institution, and its community."

Charter Oak's online B.S. in Early Childhood Education was created for those working in or seeking to advance their careers in an early childhood setting ages birth – age 8. The major is 27 credits and students choose one of three concentrations – Teaching, Program Administration and Leadership, Montessori. The program is structured to provide professional education with a comprehensive curriculum for students to work in non-certified administrative or teaching positions.
Charter Oak's online A.S. in Early Childhood Education teaches students the needed skills to work with children birth-age 8 in child day care centers, family childcare homes, and in preschool and kindergarten early childhood classrooms. The major is 33 credits and prepares students to enter the B.S. Early Childhood Education program.
