CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Carolinas AGC proudly announces the CAGC 2025 Hall of Fame winners. These three individuals, all who continue to pave the way for future leaders to follow—embody the skill, integrity, and responsibility that Carolinas AGC and the Associated General Contractors of America stand for. These prestigious Hall of Fame Awards honor individuals who are making or have made extraordinary contributions over their careers to Carolinas AGC, the construction industry, and the community they serve.
The winners were honored at the 2025 Carolinas AGC Summit & Expo on July 26 in Hilton Head Island, SC. Visit the CAGC Hall of Fame Awards page to see photos. Watch the video recap of the CAGC Summit here.
Doug Harper, Harper General Contractors, Inc.
Doug, who was born and raised in Greenville, SC, serves as the Chairman of Harper General Contractors, a company that is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Upon graduating from Clemson University in 1974, he started at Harper and rose through the ranks. As Chairman, Doug remains active in the company, providing direction and focusing on developing and maintaining relationships with new and long-term clients. Throughout his career, Doug has served in leadership roles in many industry, charitable, and community organizations including Upstate SC Alliance, Clemson University, and Carolinas AGC. In addition to serving on the CAGC Legislative committee, Doug also served as the Career Development Council Chairman in 1995, the Upstate SC Chairman in 1997, and the Building Division Chair in 1999.
Mark Johnnie, Balfour Beatty
Mark, who began working for Balfour Beatty in 1998, currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Balfour Beatty's civils business overseeing operations and delivery of highways and bridge projects throughout the United States. The Balfour Beatty website lists Mark as being a "Relentless Ally Since 1998"; the very same can be said for Mark's involvement with Carolinas AGC. Mark has served on the CAGC NC Bridge Committee, the NCDOT/CAGC Joint Committee, the Membership Committee, the Audit Committee, and various other committees. In 2018, Mark joined the CAGC Board of Directors and moved up the ranks to serve as Chair in 2023. Mark is a huge industry advocate, but also for the staff of Carolinas AGC. No matter how busy he is within his own company, he regularly takes the time to champion staff and their efforts.
Donnie Oldham, Sanford Contractors, Inc.
Donnie, who attended North Carolina State University, is President of Sanford Contractors, Inc. Donnie's involvement in construction began at the young age of 14, when he began working in the family business. In 1975, he joined the company full-time and has remained committed to its growth and values ever since. Since becoming Sanford's President in 1989, he has led Sanford Contractors with a steady focus on integrity, quality, and service. Under Donnie's leadership, Sanford Contractors has maintained a longstanding relationship with Carolinas AGC since the 1970's. Donnie has served on the NCDOT/CAGC Joint Committee, the NC Legislative Committee, and the CAGC Board of Directors when he served as Chair of the Highway-Heavy Division. He routinely encourages the Sanford Contractors team to get involved in industry organizations, believing that collaboration benefits the entire construction community.
